Ghazi Al-Assaf

He is currently Associate Professor of Defence Economics at Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies. He was working as Associate Professor of Economics at Business Economics Department/ The University of Jordan. He was also working a Directing Staff at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College. He received his PhD degree in Economics from Swansea University, UK.
His teaching and research interests focus on Macroeconomics, Applied Econometrics and Economics of Defence. Dr. Alassaf has published a number of scientific papers and books in the field Economics of workers’ remittances, financial development, and labour market in prestigious journals including Applied Economics Quarterly, and Jordan Journal of Economics Sciences. His research interest is in Applied Economics, especially in the areas of Macroeconomics Economic Development, International Remittances, Financial and labour Economics. Dr. Al-Assaf has also been involved in various consulting projects at international level including The World Bank, UNDP, ESCWA, and the Economic Research Forum. While at national level: Social and Economic Council, National Centre for Human Resources Development, and Queen Rania Foundation.

Dr Ibrahim Natil


Dr Ibrahim Natil is a professor (Associate) of International Relations and Diplomacy and Associate Dean for programs at Joaan Bin Jasim Academy for Defence Studies. Dr Natil has published many works, including six books, taught at different academic institutions and worked for many civil society and international organisations in Ireland and England.
He is the Co-convenor of NGOs in Development Study Group, DSA-UK and a Research Fellow at the Institute of International Conflict Resolution and Re-construction (IICRR) at Dublin City University.
He has invited a guest and visiting lecturer to a number of universities and has acted as an external examiner at a number of well know universities as Glasgow Caledonian (2021), Durham University (2020) and Bradford University (2018/2021/2022). In addition, he also studied business, management and international studies and conflict resolution in Ireland, Hungry and Switzerland.
He also was awarded a number of grants and scholarship and managed more than 60 community projects in the field of human rights,
community peacebuilding and women and youth empowerment since 1997.

Dr. Mohamed Hassan Salih

Associate Professor of Cyber Security. In 1998, he obtained a Bachelor of Honor in Information Technology from Future University in Sudan, a Master of Computer Science and Information Technology from Al-Neelain University in Sudan, in 2002, and a PhD in Information Technology from Al-Zaeem Al-Azhari University in 2013 in Sudan.
Since 2001, he has been working as a Head of the Information Technology Department at the Faculty of Computer Studies at The National Ribat University in Sudan, Director of the Computing and Communications Department at the University, and then Dean of the Faculty of Computer Studies from 2013 to 2020.
He Joined to Joan Bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies as Associate Professor on 1/7/2021. His area of interest is digital image processing, computer forensics, cyber-crime and cyber-security. He has a number of published papers in the field of pattern recognition and digital image processing and computer forensic.

Dr. Hani Albasoos

Ph.D. in International Relations & Security Studies from University of Bradford, United Kingdom in 2005.

Dec. 2020– Present: Joaan Bin Jasim Academy for Defence Studies - Qatar

I served as the associate dean for academic programs and the head of the MA program in defence diplomacy for two years (Dec. 2020-Oct. 2022), while I was an active associate professor.

I am currently serving as an associate professor of international relations and security studies.

Aug. 2015 – Dec. 2020 Sultan Qaboos University Sultanate of Oman. 
My duties included active research agenda, 
teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and supervising MA theses.

Present Political & Security Analysis

I delivered a great number of interviews (more than 4000)

with radios, TV channels, and newspapers, principally on the political and security situations in the Middle East, particularly the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict and the Gulf region.

I have participated in conferences and workshops with local and international think tanks.

Dr. Abdelhak Belhi

Dr. Abdelhak Belhi is an assistant professor at Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies - Qatar. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Lyon in France and a master’s degree in software engineering and information processing from the University of Boumerdes in Algeria. He previously worked as a researcher for four years at Qatar University on research projects related to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and blockchain.

He published numerous research articles in highly ranked peer-reviewed journals and participated in multiple international conferences in many fields, including artificial intelligence, information systems, and cybersecurity.

He co-edited a book on Data analytics in the digital cultural domain and participated as a reviewer for top journals in the field of machine learning and deep learning.

Dr. Nasima Ohab Al-Athamna
