Course Objectives

The Command and Staff Course aims to achieve the following:

      • Improving the ability of the student officers to carry out the staff duties and the command procedures in order to make them capable of being appointed as command and staff officers in the armed forces.

      • Enhancing the abilities of the student officers to research, analyze, and develop purposeful and creative thinking in the military and civilian fields of studies, and to provide appropriate scientific solutions to the leadership, operational, and administrative dilemmas that the units and formations of the Armed Forces may face.

      • Enriching and deepening the knowledge of the student officers about the organization, roles and fundamentals of using the armed forces in peace and war, and making use of all the resources available to them.

      • Raising the efficiency of the student officers in planning and executing operations and analyzing the environment at the tactical and operational level, and addressing the strategic level operation in general.

      • Preparing officers for joint planning and multinational operations, and developing their ability to deal with the concepts and terminology used in this type of operations.

      • Improving the communication skills of the student officers through work and practical applications.

      • Raising the academic level of the student officers in parallel with military training.
