Praise be to the Lord of all worlds. Prayers and peace be upon our Prophet, Muhammad, his family and all of his companions.
I am pleased to welcome all students, faculty members, staff and graduates of the National Defense College, and visitors to the college’s page on the website of the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies. I am also honored to express my pride in the central role played by the National Defense College for realizing the goals of the Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies and supporting its efforts to raise the level and quality of postgraduate programs. We look forward to prepare highly competent graduates who are qualified to contribute to building future of the State of Qatar, especially with regard to developing the leadership capabilities in the areas of formulating national policies and strategies and making strategic decisions related to defense security and crisis management.
We are also striving to achieve our goals each year by enhancing the capabilities of student officers in the field of assessing current and future threats and challenges, in addition to creating proactive leadership thinking. We are also keen to create integration of thinking between military and civilian leaders in terms of using and employing national resources effectively and efficiently. By this we hope to contribute to finding solutions to various issues for decision makers at national level through studies and research specialized in national security.
It is equally important that social skills and experience gained by students as a result of their interaction with faculty members and through specialized activities organized by the National Defense College are expected to serve the nation.
I wish the students at the college every success in their academic journey, and I urge them all to do their best to acquire the knowledge and skills they will need to face future challenges, as the future of Qatar depends on them.
