The National Defence Course 2022 - 2023 is the third course organised by the National Defence College under Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies. The course hosts a number of participants from senior officials of various ministries, state institutions, security agencies and officers of the Qatar Armed Forces, aiming to enhance their professional calibre and qualify them with distinguished academic qualifications required to assume senior leadership positions in the country. The idea of this course is to present a set of specialized science and knowledge designed according to regional and international experiences, taking into account the country's specificities and based on the interactive approach in addressing cognitive issues. The study plan for this course is consistent with the mission of the National Defense College, which is to produce qualified graduates capable of contributing effectively to the future of the country and its people, and to develop strategic thinking through conducting relevant studies and researches. The admission is open to officers of the Qatari Armed Forces and security services with the rank of colonel or above, as well as civilian departments directors, and those who hold a Batchelor’s degree as a minimum. They must complete a number of prescribed curriculum topics and submit a thesis, before being awarded a master’s degree in Defense and Security Studies.
