Course description

The National Defense Course is the fifth course organized by the National Defense College, which is part of the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies. This course is directed at a group of senior officials from various ministries, state institutions, security agencies, and officers of the Qatari Armed Forces. Its goal is to prepare them, enhance their professional performance, and provide them with distinguished academic qualifications, enabling them to assume high-level leadership positions in the state.

The idea of this course is to present a set of specialized science and knowledge designed according to regional and international experiences, taking into account the country's specificities and based on the interactive approach in addressing cognitive issues.

The study plan for this course is consistent with the mission of the National Defense College, which is to produce qualified graduates capable of contributing effectively to the future of the country and its people, and to develop strategic thinking through conducting relevant studies and researches.

Participants in this course include officers from the Qatari Armed Forces and security agencies holding the rank of Colonel and above, as well as civilian directors of departments. A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. Participants must complete a number of courses and write a thesis, after which they are awarded a Master of Arts in Defense and Security Studies.
