1. Educational Objectives of the program

MA in Economics of Defense at the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies is a postgraduate program specialized in one of the important academic fields of economics. 

The educational objectives of the program can be summarized as follows:

• To identify the comprehensive theoretical and practical foundations on which the defense economy is based, realizing the relationship between defense policy and the economic capacity of the state, and the importance of economic preparation in times of peace or war.

• Understanding the defense budget, its stages, and the foundations upon which the financial management of the defense sector is based.

• Studying military spending and how it is related to economic development, armed conflicts, income distribution, and strategies adopted in the field of defense procurement.

• Understanding military industries, it’s economic impact, and relationship to technological development, research, and technical training.

• Creating tangible solutions to the economic transformations that the Qatari economy is experiencing from the perspective of the defense economy.
