1. Educational Objectives of the program

M. A in Intelligence Studies at the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies is a specialized postgraduate program. It seeks to achieve the goals of Qatar’s national security by monitoring and analyzing the various situations that could pose a security threat in both military and non-military dimensions. The main educational objectives of this program are as follows:

• Knowing various theoretical trends and prevailing intelligence schools.

• Realizing the importance of intelligence in understanding the strategic environment to confront the sources of security threats in various dimensions.

• Identifying Gulf intelligence systems as part of the comparative study to identify the most dangerous challenges they face, and to measure the extent of their success and failure.

• Addressing the importance and role of intelligence in the economic, financial, sports, cultural and social media sectors.

• Learning the role of intelligence in achieving foreign policy objectives and the importance and the significance and relevance of international intelligence cooperation.

2. Educational outputs of the program

After completing the course and preparing the thesis, the graduate is expected to be familiarized with the intelligence with the following outcomes: with the following outputs:

• Familiarity with the theoretical and practical foundations of intelligence studies, as well as the legal and ethical aspects of the practice of intelligence work.

• Ability to assume the responsibility of an intelligence analyst and lead a working team to prepare assessments based on intelligence information collection and analysis within a legal and ethical framework.

• Ability to develop evidence based recommendations to solve intelligence problems with various proportions including military, political, economic, financial, media and sports dimensions.

• Proficiency in analyzing regional and international intelligence systems and evaluating best intelligence practices in the Gulf region.

• Ability to conduct relevant research and make continuous contributions to the knowledge and practice in the field of intelligence studies.
