Admission Requirements

• The applicant for the Ph.D. program in Defense and Security Studies must be affiliated with the Qatar Armed Forces, with the rank of lieutenant or above, or an equivalent civil rank.

• The applicant must have a master's degree obtained from a recognized university.

• The applicant must hold an outstanding undergraduate academic record (with a minimum cumulative grade of 3.00 or equivalent) in any of the following areas: international relations, political science, security studies, or any other related discipline.

• The applicant must pass any tests or interviews required as part of program admission procedure.

• The applicant must have the ability to read in English and use it for the purpose of his research activities during the course.

• The average number expected to be accepted annually into the doctoral program is from 7 to 10 students. Registration will open in April of each academic year.
