The Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies held a seminar titled “A Hero’s Biography” s.

under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs.

The Academy bears the name of Sheikh Ali bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, known as Joaan—may God have mercy on him—in honor of his life of generosity, and in recognition of the courage, wisdom, and distinguished national contributions for which he was known, making his name a source of inspiration for military generations.

The seminar featured lectures delivered by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs; His Excellency Mr. Khalid bin Ghanem Al-Ali, Shura Council Member, Deputy Director of the Center for Cultural Understanding, and Head of the Historical Unit at the Ministry of Culture; and Mr. Mohammed Hammam Fikri, Heritage and Rare Books Advisor at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and author of “A Hero’s Biography.” The speakers reviewed the life of Sheikh Ali bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani (Joaan)—may God have mercy on him—highlighting the most significant stages of his life and his national contributions.

A number of senior officers from the Qatari Armed Forces attended the seminar.
